Presbyterian Women (PW)

Women, both guests and members, are invited to join one of our four Presbyterian Women’s (P.W.) groups. Each group meets monthly, except during the summer. The groups (circles) meet in homes or at the church. Some of the circles have been meeting for years, but guests are always welcome. Other circles are more recent. This is a welcoming way to get to know other women, share in conversation around the Bible, and engage in missions projects.

Presbyterian Women Purpose:

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves: to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study, to support the mission of the church worldwide, to work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witness to the promise of God’s kingdom.

The PW Circles at St. Paul’s are:

Dorcas Circle: Meets 1st Monday, 1:00 p.m., Various Homes
Dorcas Circle includes many women with grown children (or nearly grown!).  They are looking for members who desire to participate in circle responsibilities and activities, which include caring outreach to their “adopted” shut-ins (through gifts, cards and visits) as well as normal circle participation.  The May “meeting” is a lunch outing-great fun!  A Christian fun time. Great refreshments are always included.

Esther Circle: Meets 1st Tuesday, 1:30 p.m., St. Paul’s Library
All members of the Circle are retirees. We always enjoy being together.  We welcome any new ladies interested in an afternoon circle.  This year we will be led in our devotions by Marian Mumie. We do not meet when the snow flies in January and February. In June we take ourselves out to lunch!

Lydia Circle: Meets 1st Tuesday, 7:30 p.m., Various Homes
Lots of choir members and teachers belong to Lydia Circle- but that’s not a requirement for membership, honest.  In other ways, Lydia Circle is diverse with a wide range of ages and interests.  If you want a large, diverse, happy group, this may be the circle for you.  The devotional is led by different members of the group.  Lydia circle has hosted a couple of Fellowship hours and is actively involved in all PW activities.  Our June “meeting” is a dinner out together.
